Breast Reconstruction in Phoenix Arizona

  • Jun. 12th, 2009 at 4:09 PM
I found out that my friends sister had breast cancer. They had to remove both of her breast cause the cancer could have kept on spreading. So her sister decided to have them both removed and she is now going through the treatments that her doctor has told her that could help her in getting cured. No that her treatments are done she misses her breasts.

I then told my friend that she should tell her sister to go on line and look at plastic surgery to help her with it. Tell her that the procedure is called Breast Reconstruction. I also told her that I have found this plastic surgeon in Phoenix, Arizona. I told her that i have heard so many people like him, he has always taken time to talk to you and make sure you are happy  with the decision of the procedure.  You can also see before and after pictures of other patients.

It now has been one year since she has had the procedure done. She feels great and she loves her boob job. She feels like a women again.

Breast Augmentation in Redlands,CA

  • Feb. 18th, 2009 at 2:47 PM
The desire to have larger, shapelier breasts is a wish held by many women. The best way to achieve a larger, fuller breast is through breast augmentation. Breast augmentation is a procedure by which a small incision is made under the breast and a saline implant is installed underneath the muscle of the chest wall to enlarge the size and change the shape of the breast.

After surgery, breasts will appear "fuller" and more shapely in contour. There is minimal scarring and the result will be a very natural looking breast.

One must always remember to do their 'homework' when considering having any surgery procedure. This includes consulting with a skilled experienced and qualified specialist, such as Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon Dr. Collins M.D. Be sure and have all your questions answered and you fully understand the risks of your chosen procedure. Doing this can mean the difference between a successful surgeon.

Breast Reconstruction After Mastectomy

  • Feb. 18th, 2009 at 12:17 PM
Modern surgical technology makes it possible to construct a natural-looking breasts after mastectomy (breast removal) for cancer or other diseases. The procedure is commonly begun and sometimes completed immediately following mastectomy, so that the patient wakes with a new breast mound. Alternatively, reconstruction may begin years after mastectomy. There are several ways to reconstruct the breast, both with and without implants; your surgeon(s) should work together with you in deciding which is the best for you. Breast reconstruction has not been proven to affect the recurrence of cancer or other diseases, chemotherapy or radiation treatment.

What are Cohesive Gel Breast Implants?

  • Jan. 12th, 2009 at 4:14 PM

The standard implant in the United States has been saline filled, ever since the FDA moratorium on silicone gel filled breast implants in 1992. The type of implants that were available before the ban are available today as part of an "adjunct study," which is open to patients with congenital deformities or having a revision for particular reasons. What distinguishes cohesive implants is that the silicone gel is firmer, essentially a soft solid. If a cohesive implant is cut in half, there is no gross movement of gel, and the implant maintains its shape.

The way these are made is that the company uses more "crosslinker" in the making of the implant. The ingredients are the same, but with more crosslinker added, it makes the gel firmer. The term "cohesive" has been bastardized in recent years. Cohesive breast implants implies form stability, or form retention. That means that in any position, the implant maintains its shape. That is an important distinction, because it means that the shell should not fold, and that it will maintain a particular shape.

The Different Types of Breast Implants

  • Dec. 24th, 2008 at 10:05 AM
There have been varying viewpoints throughout the years about the best kind of implant to use for Breast Augmentation, and health controversies about one kind of implant that dominated news reports in the 1990's. Many women who were interested in having fuller breasts were fearful to do so because of these reports. The following describes the different kinds of implants that are available, and addresses some of the concerns regarding differences between breast implant fill material, shape, surface texture, size, manufacture, and use of implants.
